The film was released worldwide on 14 January 2016 coinciding with the festival of Sankranthi.The film begins with the introduction of Inumu (Dhanraj), a peculiar thief who only steals items made out of iron. Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under their production company UV Creations, Express Raja features Sharwanand and Surbhi in the lead roles and Prabhas Sreenu and Sapthagiri in the supporting roles.
